I’m looking the world from the outside
I see friendships I wish I had
And kids I’d hope were my own
The normal life others lead
But I keep on looking
Like a dog on a leash
Staring at the street from inside its cage
I built my cage, some told me
So I drink, smoke, pop pills...
Attempting to black out
Luckly for good
Hopefully successfully
But, yet, the world is out there
And I just keep on looking
And wondering
What if...
Could I...
Maybe when...
There is no energy left to go for it
I feel like it
And so life moves on
Mine as well
But paradoxically still
I see friendships I wish I had
And kids I’d hope were my own
The normal life others lead
But I keep on looking
Like a dog on a leash
Staring at the street from inside its cage
I built my cage, some told me
So I drink, smoke, pop pills...
Attempting to black out
Luckly for good
Hopefully successfully
But, yet, the world is out there
And I just keep on looking
And wondering
What if...
Could I...
Maybe when...
There is no energy left to go for it
I feel like it
And so life moves on
Mine as well
But paradoxically still
